Why Hosted Backup?
Whether it's a catastrophic event such as an earthquake or fire or a more common occurrence such as a virus, hard-drive crash, lost laptop or a coffee spill, you could lose documents that are vital to your business. Do you back up your data every day? Do you sometimes forget? Are you sure you're backing up the right files? Are your computer and flash drive stored in the same place, making both susceptible to the same risks? If you have concerns regarding these issues, Davie Kaplan can help.
What is it?
Backup services are offered to Davie Kaplan clients who wish to have their data backed up to a remote site. This allows you to back up server data and PC files to a centralized backup environment hosted by Davie Kaplan. In addition to our onsite storage, all backup data as a whole is backed up and sent off site every few hours, thereby maximizing the safety of your information.
How does it work?
Our backup product saves a copy of each file you designate for backup to a server operated by Davie Kaplan. Our product automatically scans for changes or additions to the backed-up data and then periodically re-saves a copy of the modified file(s) or creates a copy of any new files.
After the data is copied to our servers it is automatically copied to our off-site storage at specified intervals for extra security. We will keep up-to-date copies of your data and historical backups of your data for 30 days. This allows you to request that a recently deleted or changed file be sent to you up to 30 days after it was deleted or changed.
Backup service includes:
- Installation of Backup client utility
- Backup of data to our servers
- Daily migration of data to a secure offsite storage facility
- Retrieval of requested backups from onsite or offsite storage
