Announcement – Extended Deadline for Individual Income Tax Filing

Dear Clients and Friends:

As of this morning the President has instructed the Treasury Department and the IRS to extend the April 15th deadline for individual income tax filing and payment of taxes. There is limited information at this time as to what this will entail and to what date the filing deadline will be extended. We believe it is in the best interest of our clients to continue to prepare your tax returns as previously planned.

With the continuing threat of the Coronavirus outbreak, the country is taking many precautions to mitigate the spread of this virus. Our highest concern is for the health of our clients and our Davie Kaplan team. Should you be concerned about tax planning meetings or other visits with our team, we would suggest that we coordinate alternate methods to obtain your data this year. There are many options available including mailing in your tax data, e-organizer, utilizing secure email or our secure client portal. We will be contacting you to confirm upcoming meetings or as always please feel free to reach out to us.

If you do not currently use an e-organizer, or have a client portal and would like to establish one, please call Todd McMahan at 585-341-4193 for further instructions.

Please stay safe during this turbulent time and thank you for your continued trust and confidence! We will continue to monitor the IRS guidance and stance on this situation and will provide updates to you.

Davie Kaplan, CPA, P.C.
